National Trails Day Celebration
The West Michigan Trails & Greenways Coalition is hosting a National Trails Day Celebration at its new office at 4658 West River Drive in Comstock Park on Saturday, June 7.
EVERYONE IS INVITED! |
| The first Saturday of every June is designated National Trails Day (NTD) in the United States. On that day every year more than a million hikers, bikers, equestrians, and others take part in thousands of events nationwide in celebration of America's trails.Originally established in 1993, NTD has grown to approximately 3,000 events across the country. |
 |
|
| The West Michigan celebration will take place from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday June 7th and features a lot of fun, free food and snacks. We'll be raffling off bicycles, roller blades, skateboards and more with all proceeds benefiting West Michigan Trails & Greenways Coalition, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. President Dennis Kneibel will be providing tours of the new office and plans for trail development in 2008 and beyond. |
| Several organizations such as Meijer, Metro Health, Shoe Carnival, Gazelle Sports, and Chemical Bank will have informational displays and provide samples, and the Kent County Sheriff's Department will be holding a safety rodeo. |
| There will be temporary signs to help you find your way to the festivities. If you love trails and the outdoors, be sure to drop by and help us celebrate. |
 |
| The West Michigan Trails and Greenways Coalition is a non-profit group of like-minded donors, organizations and volunteers who are dedicated to developing non-motorized trails and greenways into a linked system that connects wilderness areas, parks, historic landmarks and cultural sites throughout West Michigan.
